Parent Participation

Somers Primary School is truly a "community school" and is a focal point for the Somers community. Your participation will enhance your child's education. All parents who are assisting around the school should sign in and out at the office and obtain a ‘parent helper’ badge.

Input from parents is sought in the following areas: 

• Educational programs. See the classroom teacher regarding this aspect.
• Grounds and building maintenance through working bees 
• Fundraising activities 
• School Council and Parents Club

The teachers recognise that school is not a separate compartment of your child's life. The more overlap the better!

Not all parents are able to assist at school, but listening to your child read, assisting with homework and general encouragement is also an important contribution.
